Conference in Las Vegas

It's always a pleasure to travel for work especially with such an amazing team as the crew at Proscenium. Here are just a few of the thousands of photos I delivered in Las Vegas, Nevada to the client. I love photographing conferences with incredible speakers and some great stage design and lighting. I also love hidden remote cameras around the main stage to get some additional angles while I shoot.

Most photos take with a Canon 5D Mark IV and a Sony A9. I sometimes have a little Ricoh GR setup on the side for the diagonal shot of the stage. It has a little intervalometer built in so it can just tick along taking a photo every 10 seconds.

Puxin IPO at the NYSE

After many years working as the photographer at the New York Stock Exchange it is always a pleasure to return to NYSE and photograph an event for an old client. I was hoping to spend the morning on the trading floor photographing the actual IPO, but instead I got to spend the evening in the iconic board room covering the party and speeches of the CEO of Puxin. Being the New York Stock Exchange's official photographer was an honor for nearly 5 years, but work as an independent photography business has continued to prove a pleasure. My photography business hasn't changed since 2009 when I graduated from the Pratt Institute with a Masters of Fine Art, but it continues to evolve with different clients being a priority. The New York Stock Exchange was one of my largest clients from 2010 - 2015 but in the past 3 years I've worked for some amazing clients and the diversity of work has been incredible. Photographing food, and food related events continues to be some of my most rewarding work.

R.I.P Anthony Bourdain

About 8 or 9 years ago I used to photograph celebrity events nearly every day, or at least whenever I could race to my email quick enough to snag a contributor event for Getty Images. It was a crazy couple of years where I would run around New York City photographing anybody I could who might one day make me a few dollars on the stock site. I'd call myself a "celebrity event photographer" and that would often elicit the question, "Who's the coolest celebrity you've photographed?" I'd normally blush a little and get a bit embarrassed by the question, because the answer was honestly not what people expected: Anthony Bourdain. He was such a huge character, and lived exactly the life I'd dream of, traveling and eating all over the world. If you asked me my dream job more recently it would probably be to travel with Anthony Bourdain as his stills photographer. If I ever travel anywhere outside America I often look up whether Anthony Bourdain has been there, and then see where he ate. It worked a charm in Amritsar, India, where I ate one the greatest meals of my life that cost under $3.
