I don't normally talk about politics or religion much, it's normally safer to change the topic, but in the past year I've started to speak my mind. When I got the call from the New York Botanical Gardens that I could be photographing a presidential candidate the day after Christmas (Boxing Day) I was both excited and terrified. Thankfully it was the Clintons and they were super charming. Bill came over and shook my hand, I told him it was an honor to meet him, and he exclaimed in his cooler than school, raspy southern drawl "Nice!"

The stunning spring beauty of NYBG sets the scene for this oenophile's weekend. Take in the unfolding display of flowering trees and other spring beauties and celebrate the result of 150,000 daffodil bulbs planted in November 2015 alongside the historic daffodil display at Daffodil Hill. New York State vintners offer a flight of palate-pleasing local wines while experts on winemaking and viticulture host demonstrations and discussions during presentations of their crafts.

I was fortunate enough to be recommended by the New York Botanical Gardens to a local New York City filmmaker for a portrait project. Today was the first day of shooting and it was fascinating to meet all of the scientists who work in the field and onsite at the gardens.
