Las Vegas Conference Photographer

I love traveling as a photographer for clients. It allows me some time to see new places and work for new people. Of course a lot of my work is based in New York, but this month I travelled to Las Vegas and Los Angeles for Proscenium to cover 2 large conferences. My main juseob in Las Vegas was to document the incredible set, stage and lighting built and designed by Proscenium. I setup a few remote cameras around the venue at The Sands in Las Vegas and fired them while also shooting center stage with a long lens. I use a few Canon 5D Mark IV bodies with pocket wizard triggers and have found the new Fuji XF10 is a really great little remote camera to shoot stages with. It has a built in intervalometer and 24 megapixel APS-C size sensor. The files are perfect.

Accenture Tech Summit Remote Camera Setup

Accenture Tech Summit Remote Camera Setup. I always love using a fixed remote camera at conferences, it gives you a clean plate of the stage and all of the graphics that are designed for the summit. It's a good photographers trick to cover the stage and give yourself a fixed angle that is clean and always the same.

A remote camera at the back of the room is always a good idea especially when they have such an amazing set design and huge LED backdrop. I setup my Canon 5D Mark IV with a Poicket Wizard and just let it tick along as I'm shooting from my roaming camera (Sony A9)

Shooting Fireworks with remote cameras

There are lots of ways to correctly photograph a fireworks display on the fourth of July at Whippoorwill, but with all of the options, why just stick with one method. I mounted 2 cameras on a tripod and set the shutter speed to 4 seconds and the aperture at F8 (ISO 200). Both cameras were triggered by a Pocket Wizard that was fired when my other Canon 5D Mark IV took a photo. One of the tricks I learned was to unmount the pocket wizard from the hotshot of the Canon, as it was causing a domino effect and shooting the other pocketwizards
