Shooting Fireworks with remote cameras
There are lots of ways to correctly photograph a fireworks display on the fourth of July at Whippoorwill, but with all of the options, why just stick with one method. I mounted 2 cameras on a tripod and set the shutter speed to 4 seconds and the aperture at F8 (ISO 200). Both cameras were triggered by a Pocket Wizard that was fired when my other Canon 5D Mark IV took a photo. One of the tricks I learned was to unmount the pocket wizard from the hotshot of the Canon, as it was causing a domino effect and shooting the other pocketwizards

Fox Broadcast Portrait Gallery
I spent the day yesterday at the Fox Upfronts Party shooting portraits of all of their TV and Sports celebrities. Here are some of my favorites, selected from nearly 800 photos I will be delivering the client. I think I photographed about 80 celebrities yesterday afternoon.

NYBG Chihuly
The Chihuly Exhibit will be opening soon at the New York Botanical Gardens and I was so fortunate to be booked to create some of the photographs that will be released with the opening press release for the exhibit. Of course the final decision will be in the hands of the Chihuly team, but here are some of my favorite photographs from last night

Portrait of Nina Beaty for Care Magazine
This week was assigned a portrait shoot for Care Magazine of Nina Beaty who is a Lung Cancer Survivor. Her story is really fascinating, starting with a family history that embedded with Broadway royalty, her grandfather was Richard Rodgers (of Rodgers and Hammerstein). After a chance encounter with a doctor who was treating her mother and a very luckily timed scan, she caught her cancer at just the right time to be detected and is doing great on a trial immunotherapy treatment.
Shot with the Fujifilm GFX 50S and 63mm F2.8 lens and lighting is sometime window light and sometime Profoto B2's.
