Long Lens at the Waldorf Astoria
It's not always the most creative position as your really unable to move around, but there's still something fun about shooting the stage with a 400mm lens. I haven't shot for Getty Images in nearly a year, but this paid assignment landed on a day that i had no other work. They also brought this well used Canon 400mm F2.8 for me to use.

New York Fashion Week - Fekkai at Pamella Roland
It's a rare moment for me to cover fashion again, I had spent years working as a press photographer for Getty Images and have covered a number of fashion weeks during that time, I even worked for a small italian fashion house one year covering several presentations a day. My good friend Hal Horowitz referred me to one of his clients and I was able to spend the afternoon backstage with the talented style team at Fekkai getting them ready for the Pamella Roland show. Most images were shot with the Leica Q and a Canon 1DX and Canon 5DS. The press riser with all of the european photographers is always quite a laugh. I had forgotten that they yell at the models if they walk off center "IN THE MIDDLE!! IN THE MIDDLE!!"
Hopefully next fashion week I can work more behind the scenes jobs for hair or makeup sponsors. It's nice to have the freedom and the access to shoot however I like.

It's always an honor to work for the museum and the annual dinner is definitely a highlight. Before the evening began, they had this amazing drone flying over the room to document the space. It felt like the future of photography was upon us as this digital camera was flown around the room. Jon Bon Jovi's performance was incredible as he opened and closed the evening.

An MTV Video Music Award (commonly abbreviated as a VMA) is an award presented by the cable channel MTV to honor the best in the music video medium. Originally conceived as an alternative to the Grammy Awards (in the video category), the annual MTV Video Music Awards ceremony has often been called the "Super Bowl for youth", an acknowledgment of the VMA ceremony's ability to draw millions of youth from teens to 20-somethings each year. By 2001, the VMA had become a coveted award. The statue given to winners is an astronaut on the moon, one of the earliest representations of MTV, and colloquially called a "moonman". The statue was conceived by Manhattan Design—also designers of the original MTV logo—based on the 1981 "Top of the Hour" animation created by Fred Seibert, produced by Alan Goodman, and produced by Buzz Potamkin at Buzzco Associates. The statue is now made by New York firm, Society Awards. Since the 2006 ceremony, viewers are able to vote for their favorite videos in all general categories by visiting MTV's website.
The annual VMA ceremony occurs before the end of summer and held either in late August or mid-September, and broadcast live on MTV, along with simulcasts on MTV's sister networks to nullify in-house competition. The first VMA ceremony was held in 1984 at New York City's Radio City Music Hall. The ceremonies are normally held in either New York City or Los Angeles. However, the ceremonies have also been hosted in Miami and Las Vegas.
