CEO of AlibabaJack Ma speaks at The Economic Club of New York. It was an absolute honor to be asked to cover Jack Ma's visit to New York today. He's an incredible speaker and appears to be a genuinely nice guy. It's been nearly a year since I last photographed him, and he somehow remembered me and was very pleasant.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
It was really an incredible experience to hear Chris Hadfield speak about his life as an astronaut, living on a space station and going on incredibly dangerous space walks. He had an incredibly engaging personality and fantastic ability to engage the audience. I normally never step into photographs with celebrities or personalities, but he is such a hero and kindly spoke to me about his photography work in space that I had to get a picture with him,

There's nothing better than the access you get as an event photographer, and this Franklin Templeton an party at the Museum of Natural History in New York City was another highlight. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres among the dinosaur bones and then a buffet dinner on the ocean floor under a blue whale. Ben Hider - Event Photographer based in New York City and Westchester
Sometimes I get lucky and one of my photos of NYC exteriors gets picked up to illustrate a story. This photo seemed to be one of the few exteriors of FAO Schwarz and therefore ran all over the place. It's always cool to get a photo in Time Magazine and The New York Times.

This blockbuster exhibition is the first to examine Frida Kahlo’s keen appreciation for the beauty and variety of the natural world, as evidenced by her home and garden as well as the complex use of plant imagery in her artwork. Featuring a rare display of more than a dozen original Kahlo paintings and works on paper, this limited six-month engagement also reimagines the iconic artist’s famed garden and studio at the Casa Azul, her lifelong home in Mexico City.
Accompanying events invite visitors to learn about Kahlo’s life and enduring cultural influence through music, lectures, Frida al Fresco evenings, Mexican-inspired shopping and dining experiences, and hands-on art activities for kids. As a complement to your visit, use our new mobile guide to see rare photos and footage, listen to expert commentary, and create your own Frida Selfie to share with friends.
About the play - The good children of Cypress, Texas are taught to obey the Bible in order to evade Satan’s hand. But when students at the Christian Puppet Ministry put those teachings into practice, one devout young man’s puppet takes on a shocking personality that no one could have expected. In this hilarious and lightning-paced comedy, a foul-mouthed sock puppet named Tyrone soon teaches those around him that the urges that can drive a person to give in to their darkest desires fit like a glove.
